Pay for eye breaks and 30 min breaks

Post by Kimr »

Does anyone know if the data entry Keyers get paid for eye breaks and 30 min breaks?

I don't believe so. From what I can remember you have to log off whenever you leave your computer.

You don't get paid for your 30 min 'lunch' break but you do for the eye breaks, since they are mandatory under health and safety.

I am concerned about this already.

Yesterday, I started at one of RM's MDEC centres. We were told to be there at 5:15pm, but we were later informed that our 'paid' time wouldn't start until 7:00pm. On the time sheet that was passed around I noticed that there was a 45 minute reduction for breaks which doesn't add up as during the proposed 3hrs 45 minute shift, the total number of eye breaks adds up to 24 minutes - not 45 minutes.

Did anyone else notice this?
