Monument to stagecoach crash on A40 .

Post by glyndwr »

Hi , I am researching the history of the monument on the A40 about a stragecoach apparently a royal mail coach which crashed while being driven by a druck coach driver . I have visited the site of the monument but it does not give much history of the event leading up to the crash .I have been told many stories of where the coach is supposed to have stopped prier to the crash but can any body tell me where the coaching inn was where the driver was drinking and the starting point of the coaches route . And if possible where was the coach stopping on the route .. Many Thanks ,Jon Coaching Historian .
