Car parking.

Whats the car parking situation like where you are?

I'm at and have been told as of December the 1st Angard staff will not be allowed to use the car park full stop, whether AWR qualified or not.

As far as I know we are allowed to use the car park but it will be on first come first served basis. Otherwise it will be park on the roads nearby.

Not much of a problem if you can't afford a car.

currently doing agency work at Orton Southgate, parking is dreadful, not nearly enough, not helped by the fact you might start at 8am, when all the regular staff have claimed anything marked as a space.

Saying that once I start at Shrewsbury Avenue, parking was fine last year, so I dont see a problem.

If you read the AWR regulations then it doesn't matter either way. It says somewhere that from day 1 employees are entitled to equal treatment in terms of the car park. So there is a case if your not allowed to park in your mail centre car park.

Access to collective facilities and amenities:
Regulation 12

From day one of an assignment , agency workers are entitled to be treated no less favourably than a comparable worker or employee1 in relation to access to collective facilities and amenities provided by the hirer.
This is not intended to extend to all benefits which a hirer might provide to directly recruited workers or employees; rather, it applies to collective facilities provided by the hirer either to workers or employees as a whole or to particular groups of workers or employees. These may include:
• a canteen or other similar facilities
• a workplace crèche
• transport services (e.g. in this context, local pick up and drop offs, transport between sites – but not company car allowances or season ticket loans)
• toilets/shower facilities
• staff common room
• waiting room
• mother and baby room
• prayer room
• food and drinks machines
• car parking

Hence, providing you are an Agency worker you have as much right as a permanent worker to use the car park.

That may be correct but if you are working in an office with a permit system you must only park there if you hold one
