outsourcing of 2c packtet to swindon next week

just wondered if any other mail centre in the south west are also sending their 2c small packets from next week to the temp(xmas) swindon office .Just got information that
dorset mail centre sending out their work from monday night.It seems too early to me as pressure starts from dec 3rd?

anybody else doing the same,we have casuals from weds and yet i dont believe volumes of traffic will start to build until next weekend?

From a delivery point of view the (packet) pressure has already started.

Swindons Christmas shorting shed is taking 2C from GL, PO, BH/DT and 1C social from SN/OX/RG and GL and import items from HWDC according to the sheets we had read at us this week. Rumour has it there's only one toilet in the building and no heating. Wonder how many casuals'll be peeing on the sides of sleeves?!

Pressure leave block is December only, actual workloads have been ramping up for a couple of weeks already and are only going to get worse. Can you imagine the reaction if they officially declared this and next week to be pressure too - a month and a half where you can't take any holidays!

Pressure starts at HWDC on Monday. Ironically, though it got better as the hours went on, Saturday seemed especially light on parcels.

It's a phenomenon I've seen before at other mail centres. It's Christmas but it's like 99% of Britain and the world have decided that, nope, they're never going to send another packet ever again.

Don't think so. They'll be either kept in house, sent to Bristol or to Watford. Unless of course they're not putting the full volume in straight away - giving the casuals a bit light start to actually learn what they're doing

SOMC normally handle POMC 2c packets,thats what is going to swindon.They are going to do their own packets.
