If you mean the 2nd bit, I think it means Royal Mail have agreed to honour the BT2010 and all disagreements revert back to the default position.

Sorry one of the issues was that Royal Mail believed they had started the consultation on closing East London VOC and RDC and Woking. The agreement now means it starts from the beginning again meaning that the first 90 day consultation period will not take place until the agreement has gone to the PEC on the 17 th of July .

Dingo I had a chat with our area rep today and I was trying to get established exactly what agreements we are using during this process of Network 12 and RDC rationalisation.

He said we were using the timeframes incorporated in the mail centre rationalisation agreement.

The one question I have is this.

Is there an actual document called the mail centre rationalisation agreement or is it just a section of the business and transformation agreement?

Whilst conducting these negotiations which documents are you using and are you allowed to tell me so I can do some reading myself?

The VOC and RDC consultation process is roughly the same as the National Mail Centre Rationalisation Framework Agreement which is contained within the Business Transformation Agreement. Where the consultation will start is in line with point 6 of this section of the agreement titled process at Regional Level. The first 90 days takes you up to 6.5 . The CWU can then submit a counter proposal or proposals in the second 90 days and at the end of the second 90 days Royal Mail then give their final option.

The A to N listed in 6.2 some of the detail you go through including the business case , the net profit value and the people impact.

Dingo, When we here about RM wanting to close Woking does this include the Voc or is the Voc staying?

I'm not Dingo but as far as I know the VOC will be staying open for at least another year.

Indoor staff will be moving as the indoor work is going, the vehicles will still need a car park and a place to start and finish duties from so drivers (how many is anybodies guess) will still be registered at Woking.

Drivers collections will probably be dropped off somewhere else with vehicles returning to the VOC empty.

But this is all just an educated guess.

Hi Everyone,

I gather because of all these changes going Woking VOC wont be taking on any full time RM Drivers and will be making do with Agency Drivers to fill in until everything has been confirmed.

I am really interested in working within the RM as a Class 1 driver. I have just left the Armed Forces after 24 years of service and would like solid employment with a steady company.
