You're too late - anyone outside who was interested has seen their Mail Centre closed and have left the business through not wanting to travel to the "new" office.

Anyone from PO MC who was interested has left to go up the road to get away from a certain early shift manager!

we care pompeyboy, I really do. its just what can we do? id love to say " yea lets fight for our jobs, we not backing down?" lets start walkout lets, work to rule! but at the end its going to go through, and we would lose out on more money. union national agreement, royalmail already decided.

i care about other peoples job going and i have total sympathy for pompey . i work at dorset mail centre and we dont feel very safe either so i understand what you are going through .It is the not knowing and people have to plan for their futures.
What options are being given to the staff at the mail centre? are there vacancies at southampton, or in the new parcel force depot to be built in hants?

Cheers M8T We haven't been given any options yet - after the emergengy WTL by the mail centre manager everything seems to have gone quiet - I expect the're expecting us to concentrate on Xmas pressure.

Cheers for that. All we can do is let people know what is happening - friends, family, customers,everyone. We have saved Pompey, why not Slindon Street? Stand or fall - at the moment we're falling

The person in question only got as bad as he did because of HIS manager ie the mail centre manager, who should take responsibilty for everything that is wrong at Slindon Street.

Like alot of people I wouldn't travel to Basingstoke every day.

my guess you won't get the option most of the new parcel jobs will be owner drivers which are self employed.

What Dingo said. So most will leave the Company . other outlying DOs won't have the vacancies. Some of the lads down there will be stuffed its all they've known...
