"Hired and agreed start date" on http://www.royalmail.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think you are right in this case as shurely if it's showing the above on the RM website then the person is being recruited via RM not Angard? I applied via RM this year and mercifully everything went smoothly, and was interviewd by RM recruitment. Worryingly I have since noticed what seems to be the same Christmas Casual jobs, on the same shifts at the same Mail Centre advertised on the Directgov website with the dreaded "Angard" as the name of the employer given. So ominously Angard seem to have resurfaced and are back on the RM Christmas Casual recruitment scene

Hi,

I have recently got a call from Angard confirming my start date at Stockport MDEC 26th November. However my status is still showing "Processing security checks". I am worried now.. I called Angard this morning to check about the status.. i understand even they are not sure about this status............................

The Royal Mail group website was used by Angard last year to recruit. You could only see who was recruiting by looking at the URL (Royal Mail or Angard) - it still looked like the Royal Mail Group website no matter who the recruiter was. Angard are, after all, a company owned by the Royal Mail Group.

you should be getting a call soon.

have you had your welcome letter? if so it most likely worth you going without the phone call.

I'm supposed to be starting Monday (nights). I got the start date and time at the original registration meeting - the letter says I will receive an induction at that time so no pre-induction date is expected.

I've also got the welcome pack since, but I'm slightly wary that I've received neither a phone nor email, especially as in the online application it also says "your offer will be sent to you via email, including information such as your start date, pay and benefits". There seems a fair few worrying accounts on here of turning up on the day and being met with blank looks (especially as the welcome pack lacked any ID Badge that I hoped would come within).

You get your ID badge on your first day, the first 2 or 3 hours of your shift will be induction.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about not receiving a phonecall or email as long as you have the welcome letter
