if i remember, and its hard after the intake of so much bull, it depends on how far away from the main sorting office you are,
they load up the 1 furthest away and make their way inwards to the closest, then they try and assess when it'll arrive and work out the start times from then.
course i have seen some managers with straws in their hands since, we seem to keep getting the lorry with the square wheels lately!

Once again Royal Mail are not looking at the consequences of implementing changes. The later we start the later we go out and the longer the delivery will take. For example many years ago you could go out on a saturday at about 7am and just about everyone was still in so you didn't spend time writing out p739's. Now we go out about 9am and when it gets to 11am most people have gone out so we write out more p739's and the delivery time is longer. If we go out another hour later the problem will be worse. I doubt the planners have considered this point at all.
