Re: royal mail code of conduct
They got a nerve, preaching to me about integrity!
Still owed bonus from 5 years ago after a revision cut hours by 12%.
No bonus from 3 years ago because we didn't have a revision. (though we had one 5 years ago - see above)
Collegue shares. What laugh.
Another thing see we see creeping in is discplinary if you have an 'accident', dog bites etc, this encourages vistims not to report incidents, even though on the other hand, we are encouraged to report them.
This makes the companies record look good, and drives down possibilites of future claims, i.e you slipped on your back last month, didn't report it, now you find you have terrible back ache, and can't work.
This booklet went where the courier goes every week.

Re: royal mail code of conduct
talking of shares.
are they saying that if you hold shares in a competitor its a conflict of interest?
clearly states "payments" which could be seen to be dividends.
i dont btw but i have looked at one of the competition although the way postcomm could change their minds at any given moment its probably too risky.
this also needs to be clarified as many pension schemes could have some of your contributions invested in the competition.

If JM works in a delivery office like ours, it's all decided by who is the flavour of the month

Especially when it has lost TWO cases of it in the tribunal system and then promoted the two DOM's in question.WHITEANT wrote:The po wont tolerate bullying HAHAHAHA

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

LTB 800/12 - Royal Mail Group: “Code of Business Standards”
No. 800/2012
Ref: PTC/RE/dj/402
Date: 22 October 2012
TO ALL BRANCHES WITH ROYAL MAIL GROUP MEMBERS
Dear Colleague
RE: Royal Mail Group: “Code of Business Standards”
Royal Mail began issuing a booklet, entitled “Our Code: Code of Business Standards” to all employees last week.
This is not an agreed document but was the subject of consultation with the CWU. The document largely reiterates existing business policies. Where it refers to issues covered by collective agreements with the union, the terms of the collective agreement hold the field.
Any enquiries should be addressed to Ray Ellis’s department, quoting reference PTC/RE/dj/402.

Re: royal mail code of conduct
i've only been working at RM since may 2011 and already i see how much the workers are undervalued and to be honest management just seem to find it funny to divulge personaltommyrep wrote:krussel
You make a valid point. It is getting beyond the joking stage when our union remains so unresponsive to the situations we face on a daily basis in DO's at the hands of management dictators.
Yes we do have rights and it is high time the Union were being seen to be more supportive of their members by providing better guidance in highlighting where WE stand.
We get bombarded by management refering to their interpretation of certain PARTS of various agreements, but only the areas THEY wish to exploit in an effort to put more pressure and onus onto an already stressed workforce. It is constant never ending daily intimidation, and I cannot understand why our Union do not grasp the challenge and show some LEADERSHIP towards and in support of their members. Morale is sinking to ever lower depths as each day/week passes by.
information about various post staff misdemeanors when in fact they should "by rights" be kept behind closed doors...but some of the language i've heard staff use toward other staff
when they arent about to hear them is shocking! and to top it all off i know i'm in for a bollocking tomorrow as my PDA fell out of my pocket whilst on collections in a remote rural area
and when i realised (about 100 yrds down the road) i doubled back to find it had gone! so i will now be in trouble for not having the power of precognition, to foresee my pda falling out my pocket, that by tomorrow the whole office will know before i even get the "ticking off" as it's explained in the "code of conduct" manual!

Re: Royal Mail Group: “Code of Business Standards”
Why am I being send what is effectively a training refresher booklet to my home to read in my own time, when the the national standard of 30 minutes of Work Time Learning for every member of Royal Mail staff is close to non-existant (two since Jan 2012 in our depot)? A damn cheek, if you ask me!

New one out that's updated to reflect our new private status and has new standards involving confidential information that might affect the share price.

We don't have an overtime book, just a list on the wall which gets pinned up after everyone has gone out delivering on a thursday.north london driver wrote:who does your overtime book, and why is there no aggregate list.Jenny Manchester wrote:Page 31 in the blue box - A manager always offers overtime to one of his employees first. Then just by coincidence all the govenors favourites are top of the list when you return.
Don't bother anymore with overtime but its nice when they are struggling and you tell him where are your favourites
