If a driving duty is up for repick , Can a junior man who gets driving allowance pick the duty BEFORE a senior man who doesn't get D.A. ?

Depends on the scenario.

If a duty comes up because Bob has left the job, then the senior man regardless of DA can take it,because the junior guy on DA does not lose his duty/DA.

During a revision,if driving jobs are lost then the MTSF kicks in then the junior guy can take it,pre park and loop that is.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

weve got a seniority list on the wall,,,,weve got a repick on its way,,,,,BUT after the first 20-30 pick they stop,,,,then move on the p/t so they can have 25% in the office,,,none of the p/t are senior to any full time once 12 of them have picked then they revert back to the senior list,,,,,,so effectivly by passing and seniority so making a mockery of it........so a p/t with 2 years service is gunna get a walk,,,,and a lad on full time with 9-10 years is about to become a reserve,,,,,,,absolute great move.

You know what . i understand what you are saying... but there is a but.

The problem is that if you make a PT a reserve .. then they will never get the job done without going so far over.
Not the PT fault.

I am a PT and would not really care what they asked me to do.. as would cut off if necessary.. But for most it would be unacceptable and unachieveable to be shifted every week.

I don't really understand that.
I don't really understand the whole seniority jumping thing either.
I can't see how a part-time reserve would struggle to complete a walk any more than a full-time reserve.
If you mean that managers will not resource a part-timer's duty properly...well that's what the rep is there for but management failings are hardly a reason to tear up the way forward agreement.
Part-timers finish at the same time as full-timers in our office,if their duty doesn't get resourced properly they cut off and speak to the rep.
For that reason their duties are always resourced properly.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

likewise i totally understand a part timers prob,,,,but our office every walk is equal,,,,all supposed to be based on 4 hr delivery,,,,,so a part time post `person` on 25 hrs,,,,,5 days a week,,,,on paper has enough time to complete the walk,,,,"on paper"
were only being shifted out of the seniority so that rm can have 25% part time in the office

Fish; I think that what i meant to highlight

If you are part time and a reserve (and therefore moved from round to round) , then you have much less chance of finishing each duty; within the duty time.
I fully understand cutting off procedures
