Sitting at IPS frames.

No sign of seats at our post- P&L WCM IPS frames, which I think are 54 boxes per frame (with a handful of walks getting two boxes), really wish we would have "section specialists" like fishtank refers to as a new area was added to our section at revision which most of us constantly have to check up on the street guide above the IPS frames.

The craziest bit is we have a dedicated missort box for every other section in the depot, while at least some of the others combine missorts for two sections, highly efficient!

I also dispair of how managers want increased indoor efficiency, yet OPGs are assigned to general indoor tasks (IPS; packet sorting; portering etc.) without any sort of informal test to see who might be the fastest and most accurate sorters. Through our random assignments, for all we know, the best sorters could be being wasted on portering duites every day of the week. Surely people's skills should be assigned with some sort of logic to make the deport run better.

As we have two post code areas the frames are divided into two with OPALS set accordingly. Each frame will have about 48 boxes - backless of course.

Not sure who you can approach regarding these, maybe get onto your H & S rep and they can hassle management to get some put in. We also have them at the DBF's.
