One other important lesson from this as well is that even if you came in as a strike breaker and did work, after the event you will get no thanks for it, you will be forgotten soon after as you are just a number, as shown by the attitude of the managers and Linos toward the bullying.

Its a hard lesson but a lesson learned, next time there is a strike, make sure you go out on it to redress the balance, I assume your financial situation is a bit more stable now to support it.

We haven't had the kind of strike that would risk either of those things since 1971.
Some areas in 2009 lost up to 20 days but that was spread over the whole summer and only in a minority of areas.
The large majority of the country took a grand total of 2 days.

In 2007 i think we might have managed 6-8 days nationally again spread over a couple of months although my mind is a little hazy.
Although members were obviously asked to make sacrifices during the strikes using emotive phrases like feeding your family or losing your house is,in my opinion just a smokescreen.
I would have more respect for a strike breaker who said i just don't believe in what you are doing rather than one who said i do but i just can't afford it.
The kind of money we're talking about could be blown on a night out...before you made it to the club, never mind the taxi and kebab.

 Thought i was right .As to why you are being B +H . No such word as " Had to go into work " All those who went on strike suffered aswell.
so the problem is being a strike breaker well you deserve all you get.you should get a transfer to another office (not london)
or become a manager or get another job.
No one deserves to be bullied and harrased even if they did work while a strike was on. Sorry but your an idiot for saying that they deserve it. Get a grip mate.

Some of the comments on here are frightening. If someone not striking warrants bullying and harrasment then clearly there is something wrong with people. Really? Does it really warrant it? Honestly if someone tried to bully me over a choice id made they'd seriously regret it.

Does it warrant it?....of course not.
Am i naive enough to believe it won't happen?...of course not.

You make choices in life and some of those choices come with consequences and even if the actions of those people delivering the consequences are completely wrong, which they are in this case...you have still made the the informed choice to go down that path.

A bit like walking through a dangerous area at night to take a short cut and being mugged, questioning the decision to take the short cut is not the same as condoning your attackers.

I absolutely agree with you, you say wise things but i must say that going on strike should be an individual choice and suffer no redress!¬ Look what happened with the miners to this day some still do not speak to each other, I really feel sad that people should be forced into something against their wish just because they anticipate bullying. You have certainly made me thing of what i would do now faced with that situation go with my heart or head, morals or fear! interesting!

So true, one of our strike breakers claimed he could'nt afford to go on strike,he was always playing the fruit machine at work, bought himself an expensive tattoo and had a holiday abroad, all over the period we last went out.Never spoke to him again.
Should someone be bullied for it?,ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Everyone who has verbally and physically bullied this guy should be dealt with harshly,The guy went into work during a strike,Not everyone agrees with the reasons for strike action,I have never crossed the picket line myself and never would,But he did it for his own reasons and should never be bullied for it,Makes me so angry.
