I thought (maybe wrongly) that post Office's should segregate as part of their Service Level Agreement prior to mail being picked up?
I could be wrong, and probably am as PO LTd is not my area of expertise.
Getting them to deliver mail though does sound dodgy and not necessarily compliant, unless you are referring to the calling counter?
the main threat to collections will be the proposed 25% reduction in post-boxes, that's the big threat me thinks!

Re: thought it was a contractual agreement?
You are correct although the segregation provided is patchy to say the least. In London Mail Centre staff are actually based in the Branch Offices to advance the segregation process.F0zziebear wrote:I thought (maybe wrongly) that post Office's should segregate as part of their Service Level Agreement prior to mail being picked up?

Re: thought it was a contractual agreement?
Well I'm not an RM a*se licker but the proposed 25% reduction in Post Boxs does make sense to me. I live on the outskirts of my town and there are at least 6 boxes within a 5 minute walk. The siting of boxes in some instances has been historical rather than sensible. An example would be where a sub PO closed down. Our Delivery office was built about 6 years ago and has a callers office and a post box, round the corner a sub PO closed about 10 years ago and the box retained and yet the DO is 2 minutes away. Do we, in the light of less personal mail, need to have post boxes in the numbers we do?F0zziebear wrote:I thought (maybe wrongly) that post Office's should segregate as part of their Service Level Agreement prior to mail being picked up?
