I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

How about the one when you pull up to empty a box and there is someone stood there next to it :d'oh! " i posted a letter without a stamp on it. Could you find it for me" YEAH SURE i have plenty of time to do that for you. I really look forward to getting a stage warning next day as to why i was late for every other box :Very Happy

Tried to deliver a packet recently, as usual no answer so left a form.
As i strolled off, out came an irrate old twat screaming that i hadn't rung the door bell.
Needless to say i had tried the bell several times, and knocked on the door, no answer.
So i tried to explain that i had indeed tried the bell, and the silly old sod said you will have to
speak up i'm deaf. What a f...ing NUMNUT.

I had a classic the other day. I used to walk past a chap delivering veggies to the local grocers every morning on my round. Always got a chirpy 'Morning Post' from him. Come Saturday it was getting a bit old, he says 'Morning Post' I just replied 'Morning Veg' to him. His face was a picture, it worked though as it was 'morning mate' after that.

Must agree with most of the others, 'you can keep the browns ones' and 'I don't want it if its a bill' twasn't funny the first time I heard let alone 11 years on the trot. :evil/mad

i had some woman come out after i had delivered, some council letter it was.

"whats this letter about?" she asked.

i reply "who am i, Chan Canasta?" (for those who dont know, a polish magician who did mind reading).

then shes opens it and wants me to help her read it and go through it all with her! its ok love, i only have another 600 drops, i have all the time in the world.

another great one, people in cars shouting over the road for directions, now i stay where i am and let them come to me. and some seem angry about having to get out their cars! you need my help, i dont need yours. im not a mobile tourist information centre. and god help anyone that shouts "OI" to me. i will ignore every time.

What really gets me as well is that if something is misdelivered people take great delight in writing all over the letter. I am often surprised what petty assholes some people are.
Luckily I'm on a 3 round rotation so its always the other guys fault :dance

Another daft divorcee bint on my round, She comes storming out saying 'this letters not for me my husband left me, hes not here anymore'. Now I've had a few run ins with her and I know she is called Mary Rose XXXXXX, the letter was addressed to M R XXXXXX. I pointed out the space and said 'its not Mr XXXXXX but M R XXXXXX. The penny dropped in the end.
Had the same conversation with her when she had a letter for the occupier, she comes out saying 'this isn't for me my name is Mary Rose XXXXXX, thats not me'. I said 'its addressed to the occupier and you occupy that flat so it is for you' left her looking confused on that one.

The one when you ask for a signature for a packet / letter and they say "What is it?" I always say "I don't know I havn't opened it" One day I might just open it as they are signing and then say "Oh its a summons"

Bloody hell I do hope not, she looks like one of the villains out of Harry Potter :pray

Her single male neighbour told me a beauty just after she moved in next door her husband left with anything of value. He took pity on her and gave her his old video. Anyway the next day M R comes around his place an says 'it dun't work'. So he went around and tuned it in for her, as he did a picture came up of a woman getting brutally taken up the stern tube. The chap winces and said 'I bet that hurts' M R replies 'no not really'. He fled at that point and has avoided her ever since.
He warned me.
