I Thought Use Of Trolleys Were Mandatory ?

My point is that they shouldn't be mandatory. Common sense should prevail. I cannot see why RM management refuse to acknowledge this when it is in everybody's best interest to do so. Currently I finish at my correct time or thereabouts. If I used a trolley for every loop I'd be claiming. Straightforward enough isn't it?

P&L is designed to only work about a third of the year; the rest of the year you should be doing overtime or leaving some for others to work overtime.

If a duty is split down enough, then trollies are redundant, that is my only point. Is that not the case with a rural delivery, or should they be carrying trollies?

But by splitting it down you're increasing the time spent not actually delivering anything and increasing the running costs.

If it did, some of these guys would be doing it like a shot

The bottom line is banner...if the loops are too small to make using a trolley viable you should make management aware of that and the loops will be replanned to take care of that.
If the duty isn't suitable for trolley use you should make management aware of that and the duty will be replanned to take care of that.
What you shouldn't do is ignore the issue because it suits you in the short term.

1 or 2 bundles per pouch?? easy or what!??

Many days i end up cramming in 8 to 12 bundles between 2 pouches plus 4 - 10 small packets for just 1 loop, I can ONLY use the lwt as it is far too heavy otherwise and this is for EVERY one of my 5 loops! On rare occasions i have 3 pouches full for 1 loop (1 has to go over the shoulder as well as use the lwt)

I kick up a stink about it and get told that i will be personally assessed as it must just be that I am "too slow"!!

I am supposed to be part time, but most weeks end up working more hours than the full-timers!

I think the point has to be made here, when I say quicker, I'm not meaning early finishing. I'm meaning that smaller looping can be done in time whilst larger looping with trollies cannot as has been made clear by many on here. As long as the weight is low it is quite acceptable to carry the mail. Also, there are many places where the trolly cannot be used due to terrain and paving issues and the trollies still won't take many oversized items so multiple calling is still necessary.
I don't see the problem with not using the trollies as long as you aren't carrying more than 10kg, not running etc and also can get the job done on time?

I have heard managers going out and telling people off who weren't using trollies. That's fine, the first time that happens to me, half a round will be getting returned to the delivery office.
They haven't made any provision for trollies to be used so anybody who has to use them is going over or cutting off.

I thought it was 8Kg

Strange that. Both the managers AND the rep in our office maintain there is NO maximum lenght to our duties now.

My bags were weighed today for my P/L round and the total for my walking loops (7 loops) was 112kg
and had 12 bags.
If I had used a maximum of 6kg per bag that would be 18 bags
What planet are they on

Doubt they will rock the boat, they tow the official line but the organisation is unwilling to pay for the mandatory use of trolleys.

We have 80% on delivery methods in our office. Some are struggling to complete the walks in time so bring mail back. Managers then go out to complete the mail that was bought back. They do not use trollies, they use bags. Last week one lad was given a verbal warning by a manager for using a bag. That same manager 2 hours later went out and done part of a delivery using a bag......... Managers will eventually turn a blind eye to the using of bags if it mean there is no mail being returned.

I complained to the DOM about managers doing walks and not using the LWT's. His response was 'They have'nt been trolley trained'
