My registration event for the West Of Scotland Outhouse was on Monday at the Scottish Distribution Centre in Netherton.

I don't know if it was just quiet, but it seemed a hell of a lot better organised than last year.

Panic over! A whole batch of slots for Croydon on Tuesday afternoon (2nd October) just opened up so have now booked. Although, as per last year, NONE of the emails have made it to my AOL inbox. I didn't have the problem in 2009 or 2010 and last year I was ready to blame AOL for somehow blocking them, but since members on other ISPS have reported the same problem, both this year and last, I'd still like to know what changed to cause this to happen.

Hi, did you take the 14 page terms document to the registration with you?

I have just got back from my reg. day. No you don't need that s**t! You only need 1 passport photo, I did query that in another post. You don't need the health matrix, not that I bothered with that one either. The agreement to work over 48hrs, which was not on our list,(but was on another list) I printed anyway but that wasn't required either. The main contract, they have & give you to read, sign & hand in.

OH & PS, be prepared to wait ...............................................................................................................

No.

I took the print summary of my application, bank details form, health consent form, P13, photocopies of passport, driving licence and NI documents, and two passport photos which I had to put my name and NI number on.

I've got an interview next Thursday at the Premier Inn Theatreland, Glasgow.

I'm guessing that it won't be much different to my last interview, which was at the Glasgow Sorting Office in July. However, I've seen no mention of Angard yet. A good thing?

At the registration event I went to today I was told that The Royal Mail are no longer working with Angard Staffing for the Christmas Casuals. It is all being done by The Royal Mail. It may be different elsewhere but I doubt it. The registration event was far more organised than the mad rush last year. I was at the Manchester registration. Anything should be better than Angard. People being turned away from the registration because of registry issues, people being accepted and then turned away on the start day because they weren't on the register, people not being paid, customer service over the phone a shambles. So I think anything must be an improvement on Angard.

The interview will be the same. Mine was identical to last years registration event just better organised. Sit down, documentation (make sure you have it all) given a shift pattern and start dates, be told about the criminal conviction process and then on your way.

Yes

I had to do it as permanent staff only 1 year ago after 7 years in.

stupid question, what is the Peterborough Royal Mail depot (Werrington) like temp wise.

Last year at the Outhouse, it was poorly heated, but since this is a proper building, in service year round, am I to assume the heating will be better? short, or long sleeves? shorts, 3/4 lengths? naked?
