Good job the brakes are supposed to be good on the Boardman,
i've had similar things happen to me,
one dopey cow driving along side me in busy traffic started to slowly veer to the left trapping me between her car and the kerb,
she obviously doesn't use her wing/side mirror, so she shouldn't miss it too much :whistle

The brakes are excellent on the Boardman, but my judgment might be slightly favourable, as I don't think disc brakes had been invented when I used to cycle regularly as a nipper. :left:

Can you cancel the agreement if the bike you ordered doesn't turn up at the store?

It was the last one of its type available as the new range is due out early next year,it was collected from the store in Wales by TNT on 48 hour delivery 2 weeks ago, still not arrived at my local store.

Halfords head office and TNT are investigating.

I don't want to pick another bike,so am I allowed to cancel?

Cheers,

Normally if they are unable to supply the bike u want, they will offer u an alternative, usually an upgrade of the bike u ordered for no extra charge,
if i recall correctly, there is someone on this forum who ordered a £500 bike, went to collect it, they didn't have it, so he walked away with a bike worth around £700.
u should be able to cancel, as they didn't fulfil their side of the bargaim, its not your fault,
but it may be worth your while to ring the store concerned (not halfords cuctomer care) and ask to speak to someone senior and place a complaint, and that u wish to cancel.

Have you used your LOC in store or over the phone? If not then i don't think you have to do anything as you won't be billed/charged until the LOC has been processed through the till.

If you mean the web offer in conjunction with the 100 quid off voucher, then yes. I phoned Halfords before I went down, and the first guy I spoke to said 'no, you can't do that, but I'm not sure', then he put me on to the manager to check, and the manager said yes. But I didn't want to push my luck by seeing if I could use the 50 quid off voucher as well. :no no
I just collected my bike this morning,
i was told straight off i couldn't use both vouchers,
then there seemed to be a great deal of confusion with the £100 voucher, initially they wouldn't accept it, as it was £100 off the (then) £600 price of the bike,
the bike is now £499:99 so from their opinion, it wasn't usable, but they had a word with their gaffer, and even though they shouldn't have, they let me spend it on accessories,
i walked away with the bike, and a Garmin edge 200 cycle computer http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165741" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (paid the extra in cash) :Very Happy
Happy days.

How do you choose the correct frame size when ordering online? I am between 5 foot 9inch and 5 foot 10 inches high. What have other people found to be the best frame size for their height? do you need to take into account your inside leg measurements?

It's a cool little gadget. I've been uploading my journeys to garminconnect.com and I'm seeing a (slight) improvement in my times.

I'm about 5 ft 8 and I'm quite happy with a medium frame, but it could definitely fit someone a few inches taller.

I phoned Halfords head office to cancel as the bike I ordered had gone missing (see above).
They then told me that I could use an independant shop near me.
After a quick visit and a chat,I now have a shiny Cube Aim 29'er mountain bike, they even let me pay the extra as it was over the £500.

Very happy!

Is it possible to use an independent local bike shop (who are in the scheme for other employers), rather than Halfords?
How do I arrange that?

Cheers
