new contract

Post by kietr »

Just wondering if any of the old "Reed" temps have had a new contract yet from Angard as the one we were issued with at the change over was only for 50 weeks, that was last September so technically we are now out of contract.

They have verbally informed us at a meeting at our Mail Centre, a few weeks back, they will not be issuing new contracts but the old 50 week contract would simply become rolling contracts. Some of the people have already gone beyond 50 weeks and are still working. I would contact the people that call you in and asked them what the situation is and try to get a sensible/acceptable answer - good luck with that.

The casuals present at the meeting asked for something in writing to this effect as well as requesting a new contract (and their original contract back) with respect to changes for AWR along with: our pay rates; our official break times; the date we need to use our accrued holiday by (the original contract sort of indicated we needed to use holiday before the end of contract but they are not ending); how the overtime system works pay wise (it seems quite weird/odd and I have never known a company pay less for overtime than "normal" work time).

Guess what I have received as a result of the requests?

Absolutely nothing.
