Royal mail interview-Questions?

Hey there I'll be having Royal mail interview for CHRISTMAS CASUAL - Jubilee Mail Centre - Lates,

Does anyone know what sort of questions I can be asked?
Help highly appreciated.

Only question I remember was which shift do you want to work and when do you want to start (after showing me a list of start dates and shift times).

They check your documentation is in order:

Your photos are of you and signed by an appropriate person.

That you have a 5 year checkable work history (even if it is unemployed).

Your address(es) for the last 5 years.

Your national insurance number

Your bank details are correct.

You provide a signed health consent form.

If some of the documentation is not suitable you maybe asked to go and get something better and bring it as soon as you can or on the next day if appropriate.

Photos have to be signed? It doesn't say it on the email

They have had to be in the past. They need to make sure, as much as possible, the person who is applying is the person who will be working. As your photo will be on the work pass it has to be your photo or your shouldnt get into work. I think if you have a valid passport and/or a current photo card driving licence you do not need the photo signed providing you take the passport/photo card licence.

There is normally something about this in the documentation you should have, not necessarily the e-mail itself, possibly the online documentation or documentaton you have printed. There is usually a list of people who are eligible to sign them.

This isn't an interview like other job interviews, it's a registration event. Just remember to turn up with all the correct paperwork, copies of everything, sign the 2 passport photos, don't sign the P13 till you are asked to...Finally, as Verging said, tell them the shift you want to do! Simples! Well it is in theory. In reality it will be a bit like a piss up in a brewery (not). They will not be ready when you get there, will keep everybody waiting, ask you loads of silly questions & you've already told them the answers or they're infront of them, but they can't read! Then there will be some dispute as to the hours on the late shift....2-10 or 3-11 or 4-midnight! If you are like me,(after last year, you will probably feel like telling them where to shove it!), you will need a drink afterwards!
Good luck...actually you don't need it! Patience is what you need! My registration event is this Thursday 10am.

I am not saying it isnt OTT but that is RM/Angard for you - if you did not supply photo ID (passport or photocard part of driving licence) you needed to supply a signed photos. I have done 3 Chrstmas's now 2 with RM and one with Angard - each time they needed signed photos because my passport is out of date and I did not have photocard driving licence. I never said this was in the e-mail, indeed I do not know what is in the e-mail, but it will be in the documentation somewhere.

Do the photos only need to be signed if you use your birth certificate and not passport? As there's no photo with that is there.

I've got passport & provisional license to take with me (it says on the checklist provisional can be used as I.d)

As said just above. Personally I would take both just in case.

On the application form this year it asked you upfront what shift you would like such as nights or weekends etc... I chose nights but would like to change to early morning. I agree they don't have a clue when you get there so I can choose again hopefully!

they will take your documents off of you, asking what shift you want, and send you home.

I have done 3 Chrstmas's now 2 with RM and one with Angard - each time they needed signed photos because my passport is out of date and I did not have photocard driving licence.

I did Christmas 2009 and 2010 using an expired passport and they did not ask for the photos to be signed.

The documentation did say: a valid passport or valid photocard driving licence or full birth certificate and signed photos. I would not consider an out of date passport as a valid passport and neither would customs and border control so neither should Royal Mail - looks like you got away with it - just shows how good the checking is.

I have the interview on Monday, how much work am i likely to get? or is it a case of how long is a piece of string? i have applied for Chester MC. Think i read that last year some people only did 2 weeks in December.
