So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Still cannot complete a park and loop walk. Have so far only completed a park and loop walk on two days out of twenty.

Saw a pair of runners with bags on their back on Saturday. We cut off on time, they finished twenty five minutes late (I was lounging outside the gate chatting with the other folks what had cut-off). So it cannot even be done, in many cases, if you run around cutting every corner imaginable. I don't particularly like the trollies but I use them in all situations except where there is only one bundle, and therefore nothing to haul along.

Even the guys who think they are by the book sometimes neglect to use a trolley. "It's only a couple of bundles." I've only been with one person so far who is anal about using the trolley (one person other than me).

Tried an experiment today. Didnt use trollies, cut corners where possible including cutting accross gardens etc.... you know the sort of thing (not my usual style, it was in the name of science)

My walk was just do-able with 3 mins to spare on a light Monday with two tray of unsorted mail left at the fitting and no d2d's How on earth are we expected to finish on time by doing it by the book :hmmmm :hmmmm :hmmmm

Thats my science study over :cuppa back to trollies, cutting off and doing it by their book on Tuesday. :dance

Thinking is the hardest work there is. Which is probably the reason why so few men engage in it.

Simple answer is your not.I think the planners are making the walks to big on purpose just to see if a few can do them on time.

3 out of 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nana :nana :nana

And that was with a ten minute delay - unfortunately not sexual in nature. Just your banal "somebody has signed for a special delivery and it's gone missing" story. Told them to ring in as it has nothing to do with me.

Did a HCT duty for the first time ever. God, I hate those things. Convenient in terms of storage but utterly useless in terms of ease of transit. Especially when its bin day. I spent more time on the road than anything. Of course, that wasn't my main bug-bear today. That happened when I got in and found out that the walk I was supposed to be on was filled. Went to see the manager.

"It's your day off."
"Rota says Saturday."
"Well, it's today." (no "oh sh*t, I'm sorry, I didn't realise", just a mechanical consultation of various sheets followed by a stone face - as if it was my fault more than anything)

APPARENTLY, I should double-check my day off! How utterly ludicrous that sounds. Of course, I wasn't going home. And I definitely wasn't/am not coming in on Saturday! So I ended up doing a HCT duty instead. Am looking forward to a rare Saturday - Monday off combination, which is about as rare as hen's teeth when you're a reserve.

edit: And I heard a crazy rumour today. A crazy rumour that as of next week our overtime budget is going to be ... 0. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest as I don't do overtime any more, but in terms of the office and any of the rounds being in any way complete-able sans overtime ... I just don't see it. Surely that is utter bullsh*t of the ninth variety.
