On the occasions where I have completed delivery and have a few spare minutes, there is always a van to wash, oil to check, tyre pressure to top up.

Work your contracted hours and it saves you being in the situation where people can go on about being due time.

Trouble is Haddie, the Managers interpret it one way and the CWU another. There is nothing watertight about any of the agreements that the CWU have negotiated over the past 5/6 years. Instead of paying Big Billy and Dave huge wages to come up with this crap, we should be paying professional negotiators to make agreements based on what the membership are prepared to accept.

the definition of flexing is in writing as part of 2010 agreement . re what members want, you know as well as me some want the earth. i know the CWU is not perfect but then what is. yes agreements can ridden over but that is where the union comes in or should and the reps should be read up on the issues. I am CWU rep at my DO. I spend countless hours of my own time reading agreements so when an issue arises I can debate the issue on a knowledgeable basis with DOM. it is amazing what they do not know. they do try and bluster, even the half decent ones. I also put any ongoing issues in writing, so DOM or DSM has to reply and I have it in writing. then if there is a problem I can go into my folder and voila. try confronting a DOM without the knowledge to back up your argument and they will ride over you. if you have no rep then this will happen. of course some reps are hopeless . we had an issue ongoing nearly 2 years. I took over a few months ago and have seen movement after tow long letters of disagreement

This was tried at a few pilot offices, but the union refused to play ball and we were told, by the union, not to take part.

I preferred it as it was a record of your attendance. Only problem was we all pouched off except the drivers, so it was a bit pointless!
