Christmas 2012 - RM to recruit and pay directly

Does anyone know if the Wolverhampton Xmas casuals jobs have gone yet? I am only getting the option for Birmingham.

I registered my interest from the Postcard that was sent as I worked at wolves last year. I also got 4 emails telling me to apply now and the jobs will be posted anytime in 48 hours.

ive applied, now just wait for the interview, and the start date.

I guess it can take a while to get a Disclosure done, but this feels like quite far in advance for a 3 week job in December.

No disrespect to those who have worked for us before but you we're just a number,and you will just be another applicant.
My point is,it does not matter how good or bad you were previously as it won't make any difference as to whether you get a job again or not.

I think the early registration, where the card says "to gain priority application status", maybe getting peoples hopes up.

That said I somehow didnt actually finish doing that, not sure how, so I wont mind if that is ignored, all I can do is put that ive gone it before on my work history, and all things being equal that should mean something.

It would much appreciated if someone could help me here... I did work last year at Christmas through Angard at the sorting office in Edinburgh... As by the topic name clearly shows Royal Mail is recruiting directly this year.

On the application for this year it asks, "Are you now or have you previously been employed within Royal Mail Group?". Yes or No..

Just wondering what people have chosen if they worked last year through an agency such as Angard or Manpower.

I put yes, and said that since Angard was owned by Royal Mail, I was walking for Royal Mail.

This is a different question for people who worked with someone like Manpower of course. I expect they have had any similar applications.

Moving on, I am hoping that there is no need to apply for the second Peterborough location, I applied for the first one (Werrington) when it came up, then when Shrewsbury Avenue came up, it said I didnt need to apply, hopefully that is the case, as Shrewsbury Avenue is where I was last year, so I am most likely to be taken on there again. Saying that I dont care either way which I go to, I would not expect there to be a massive change at Werrington expect many more letters and less Amazon packages, it is also closer to me. So swings and roundabouts. Will have to mention this at the interview, which hopefully will be better than last years.

Not to be a pest but see when it asks you for your pay number, dates of employment, office/location, business you worked at, Line Manager's name and reason for leaving what did you put? (After you said you have been previously employed with them)

As I have my payroll number from Angard last year, I know the dates of when I was working, I know my office/location and reason for leaving was obvious as was end of temporary contract for Christmas Casuals.

As for Business I worked at would I put Angard? Plus as for a line manager I would not know what to put...
I was moved about to different areas of the sorting office and worked under various managers but they had to tend to a lot of the casuals and I doubt they remember much of the Christmas casuals from last year.

I just said I was with Angard and didn't put in any information I did not have. Ok maybe I could have looked up my Angard pay slips, but at the time that did not occur to me.

Cant remeber the real name of the guy in charge last Christmas, me and another person gave him a nickname.

Cheers for that, I thought you had to give all the information. Just probably over thought about it really and was worried about information I couldn't give/remember.
