It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

There will be a revised timescale for the medium/long term study in to delivery methods/fatigue. John Nash and Mark Hoggar will formulate this activity. There will be a review 6 to 9 months after commencement.

The study will monitor the main delivery methods:-
• Shared vehicles with LWDT & light pouches
• HCT
• eHCT
• Cycles
• Pouch on shoulder

The data collected will include:-

• Sick leave due to musculoskeletal disorders, stress related conditions and cardiovascular complaints
• Accidents on duty
• Medical retirements
• Referrals to Atos
• Staff turnover (and relationship to specific duties)

Still waiting.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

I see the new ways of working as a handy tool for reducing the workforce. Ill-health retirement such as I was given is a much cheaper alternative than redundancy. In addition those likely to find the new methods more challenging will be the older postie who dare I say it is more likely to be more politicised and Union-savvy than younger colleagues so a handy way of reducing the solidarity within the workforce.

spot on with that last bit, the young kids coming into the job now dont seem interested in the union,, i can see the union fading into the history books in the near future, as far as THIS job is concerned anyway.

That would be a great shame daveyff , the Union for all its faults is still the best representative for the postie.

That is open for argument. At this present time it cannot even protect it,s members against the synical bullying and harassment that is a part of daily life for opgs. That should be the minimum basic protection that we should all expect for the contributions we make.
