I can only see the 'benefit' of this 'big job, little job' is that it will cut down on the time spent waiting for one half of the pairing to finish?!
If this is what is being deemed to be the issue then I would question if anyone has attempted to identify where the problem, with the Park & Loops, is.
Is there time being lost continually on specific loops? Have they/can they swap delivery points over to the other half of the pairing to cut down on time spent waiting? Have they tried swapping the loops - where the driver can use any excess time to deliver packets?

Is this a wind up,and are our colleagues seriously that thick to entertain this?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No and yes...and it's seemingly with the blessing of the union at a reasonably high level.POSTMAN wrote:Is this a wind up,and are our colleagues seriously that thick to entertain this?

Re: Big Job/Little job or Starbursting anyone
Its pointless, we have simply gone full circle except the deliveries are now nearly 5 hours long. The poor sod who is the walker will simply be slogging from one drop box to another whilst the driver is going to be screaming around trying to get all the tracked and reg delivered. How long till unofficial drops behind peoples sheds become the norm as there have been no extra drop boxes put in place and the walker gets lumped with the larger packes as the driver wont have the time.
It seems that (once again) millions have been spent on P/L and in higher delivery rate area’s it does not work so suddenly all agreements are ripped up and it has to be sorted at local level.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

tolkien wrote:Our Dom with the blessing of the union has had another great idea , pre revision he has said we now have to take all the large parcels, that went out on a seperate van B4, by going 2 to a van doing 2 complete deliveries , no loops, extra time or planning so leaving it up to the 2 posties to sort it out on the go each day , OK if there is only a few but they are building up so no chance of doing it now every day , although he has promised that if we cant do it all in the time its ok to bring the remaining delivery back![]()
, not tested yet so watch this space !!!
unfortunatly the only reason he has done this is that the idiot ,has cut our hours so much now he can not cover the duties as an example he was told to cut 24 hours but he cut 48 and he has done this every time he had to lose hours, no sympathy from me and many others .
This doesnt make much sense from reading it?
Are you park & loop or 2 posties going out in a van and doing old style delivery?

Not only at local level, but at the level of individual walks. If I fail to secure a duty in the re-sign I could be sharing a van one day and the next dropped off and working from the pouch boxes whilst the driver does their own thing. The planners said whatever clears the walk goes.krussel wrote:It seems that (once again) millions have been spent on P/L and in higher delivery rate area’s it does not work so suddenly all agreements are ripped up and it has to be sorted at local level.
