Been saying this for years "Hans" it is the one true way of sorting this out,
you get payed by the hours on the timecard, although in the past when i've
mentioned it to various reps to a man they have just about s**t a brick over
this.Never understood their dislike of clocking in and out :hmmmm :hmmmm

I havn't met my rep after 2 weeks and probably won't end up meeting, he's on permanent nightshift.

Although my manager's havn't said it directly to me (yet) I've heard them inform other new starters when enquiring about overtime/going past their time that RM have a system where if you finish soon one day and late the next then it evens itself out, in other words don't ask for overtime because if you've finished sooner one of the previous days of the week then it's even. What response is the best to come back with when they say this or are they right?

Do not do this, it is called banking of hours. It is not been accepted by the union. Managers have to find you work til your finish time, if they can't then you gain. :Very Happy

It must be the only thing that is not accepted because they agree everything else.

Yeah I havn't went below my contracted hours since I'm new and still learning my route, just want to make sure I get paid for when I go over it.

how can you have a rep on a different shift . you should have a rep on your shift
As far as I've been told we have one union rep and he went on permanent nightshift at the start of the year when new sorting machines came into our DO (words to this affect anyway).

Most of the union reps are crafty B#####ds going on nights or getting a duty on a van in the afternoons that's custy basically I'm alritght now Jack and getting away from the crap, my union rep has probably took his walk out about 30 weeks in the 52 because he spends that much time in the office or at meetings agreeing issues.

i need to finish to pick my kids up from school. my finish time was latest 2pm before and now its cutting it fine, making me late to get my kids.
i'm still a temp, and dom has said its my responsibility to complete my walk. its my responsibility to sort my mail even though its impossible for me to get to work for the required time.
meaning i'm now stressed... as he wont listen to me when i say i need to collect my kids. he shrugs his shoulders like i'm supposed to know what to do. my hours have gone up too. meaning i'm so tierd and im dreading work now. the day is sooo much longer and sooo much harder.
when i get home i'm dead on my feet, although the p&l reduces fatigue with the trolly... the hours are longer. delivery time is 5 and half hours.
and i'm a shithouse who used to work through my break so i could get home and see to my kids, because the pressure of cutting off, would mean to me that i have failed my walk and a black tick in the box... and being a temp...! with bills to pay... the pressure is ridiculous... i've never known anything like it.

Sounds awful. Can you only pick up your kids on time if you finish early (i.e. by working break)? Can you not be there on time if you work until your actual finish time?
