WE ARE in total despair at Royal Mail.
Having lived in the same home for over 22 years, we are still not receiving all our mail.
We have both a name and a number on the front of the property – both easily visible, but mail still goes to other homes.
Management at Royal Mail have been contacted on numerous occasions over the years to discuss the problem.
Delivery of mail can be frequent for several months and then, back to square one.
Our concerns are about particular communications – bank statements, prescriptions and any confidential information, etc.
Postage has risen recently. What for; a worse service?
We always ensure we give out our correct address.
When we have managed to retrieve some letters, the exact address has been used.
So what is the excuse? We have our own opinion.
At this moment in time, we are awaiting yet another response from Royal Mail.
They were contacted several days ago. We have received one phone call to yet again take details. No contact since.
When we do see a post person (the deliveries are so irregular) we ask politely if they would please take note of our address – still no change.
Perhaps we should acquire a few pigeons to solve the problem once and for all?

What about the bloke in a red top lurking by the bins?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

They have probably had 2 letters delivered wrong in 5 years, ALWAYS thier bank statements. They look like they are retired so have nothing better to do with thier day than try to moan about absolutely everything. Whats the betting they have the worst binmen in England , the worst council, the worst road cleaners etc etc etc Glad they are not in my town

Re: Why does mail go to wrong home?
If its all c5 or pop sized letters, could well be wrongly coded by IMP printer and then wrongly sequenced by a css machine? If also flats and packets then more likely human error somewhere along the line?
same as it ever was...

Re: Why does mail go to wrong home?
Ask a historian and you might be told that with all the demand for crockery in the latter two-thirds of the nineteenth century the Potteries was expanding like never before or since, street upon street of terraced house being built and who better to name them after than that long reigning monarch Victoria, so there's going to be quite a few similar addresses, apart from which there's a Basford across Nottingham way, and there's probably one in Australia or New Zealand too
and we get all the blame .
