Sick pay for 3 month contract employee

Post by mikemann25 »

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help, iv been with royal mail for 10 months and been on a 3 month contract that has been renewed 3 times. I was recently off for two days with food poisoning and have just looked at my pay slip and it says what my basic pay is and then underneath it says Arrears of Basic Pay and it has taken money off me. Am i not entitled to any sick pay being on a 3 month contract? Im assuming this is the reason for the deductions because my previous pay slips have all added up to the hours i have worked. I have tried to find out the answer myself through my contract but it says i need to look at the personnel manuel which i cant find anywhere! :cry
Any help would be much appreciated

It's not the 3 month contract,it's the fact that you have to be with us 12 months to receive sick pay.
The Royal Mail Personnel Manual is a collection of documents held by HR which amongst other things contain the terms under which sick pay is paid.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
