Customer complained the other day at the desk to pick up packet, that he was in when I did a 739. Its a rural with a long drive and box at bottom of drive. I remember it. I drove up there hooted van horn, got out pressed buzzer. No response. So I 739d it. Worst part is when back at office a few days later I was actually accused me of not trying to deliver it. I was told to doorstep it next time. I said gimme that in writing. W@nkers.

Guys, you're all missing the most important point here: Did anyone win on the scratchcard? ;)

Been in box counter this week.... I've had several customers come down saying they were in when the p739 cards were put through their letterboxes...and that the driver/slash postie never knocked and were nowhere to be seen when customers went out onto their street looking for them....posties tell me they knocked..customers say they didn't..who do you believe?
One thing i have noticed this week is this.....more and more posties haven't got a fooking clue how to fill a p739 card in!
Many do not know the difference between an international item or a recorded and tick the boxes on the cards incorrectly!
Many do not put either recorded/international/special delivery bar codes on p739's so we cannot trace item on our computer!
Many do not describe items correctly....packet...letter...nothing....so we waste more time in the box counter looking for stuff as 9 times out of 10 customers don't know either what they are expecting either!
If its a blue packet...pink packet...yellow packet...just write it down on the p739 card like i always do...this makes it easier to find and keeps the customer happy as they get what they come down for quickly!
Dates...lol...i would say around 50% of posties in our office never write the date on p739 cards!
Time to collect....again..most posties leave this blank...so customers come down often on the same day expecting their packet to be in the box counter..when in fact it is either still with the postie on delivery/driver or has been posted back through the system!
Times..oh deary me....some posties write ..a.m and that is about as good as it gets...some leave it blank.....seldom they write the exact time they attempted to deliver the item..again annoying customers!
I had one card last week which was a corker....no time...no name...no date...no idea whether it was a signed for or not...it just said...COLLECT on it....lol...
And some posties hand writing is a sight to behold...many look like they had been written by a schizophrenic with large letters...then small..then large..then small..lol...pen pushed so hard the imprint of what has been wrote appears on the back of the card...spelling is also diabolical too....
I work on foot deliveries/driving and box counter duties...and i try to do the job right....but when i see what goes off in relation to the state of some of these p739 cards i have come across i often wonder how the hell did these people get a job at RM in the first place...?(They are that bad)!
Some customers who come down to collect items come down with an attitude that sucks...often saying this and that about their postie(one lady this week believe all posties took undelivered items back home with them)...moaning that they were in when the card was put through...moaning about the gate being shut too loudly... etc etc....but there are a few posties out there who don't help themselves or the business by not filling in these cards correctly...!
I mean come on lads/gals..it's not rocket science...!

"it's not rocket science" heard this being said many times by management, how come they can not get P&L right, many customers have complained to me that they were in and others that I knock too loudly, others did not want to open the door. :dcfo :dcfo :dcfo :dcfo :dcfo :dcfo :dcfo :dcfo :dcfo

I think the customers get muddled up between the 739's and the surcharge cards. We've all been chased down the road by them waving a surcharge card shouting 'You never knocked!' :cuppa
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

:thumbdown Never mind the front page. Only open mine to read the letters page to see what BS RM have come up with to genuine concerns. However i do notice some other things. Take the WCM supplement. Swansea i believe. Right way to move a york and a wrong way. No mention that both yorks have 28 boxes on them. Potential 280kg plus the weight of york at 50kg giving a total of a possible 330kg. Max safe operating weight of a york is 250kg!!!!! Talk about blowing your own trumpet. However, dont stick it up your arse to show off.

It really annoys me when customers don't put the proper FLAT NUMBER on parcels.

ie top flat, 1st floor flat, ground floor flat etc.... they just put the main house number......how the hell am i supposed to know which buzzer to ring?! Do i really have to stand there all day and ring AND DISTURB 8 flats to see who this parcel belongs to?? sure its not bad when customers actually bother to write their name on their buzzer but some are just left blank!

This happens with Amazon parcels alot. Ive never shopped with Amazon , do they not give you the option of putting a flat number in your delivery address or something??

Once i tried ringing all 6 buzzers.....a few people got hacked off cos i disturbed them

One old lady came to the door and gave me a right load of abuse for disturbing her , i couldnt believe it!!

Sorry but after that i now feel like if they can't be bothered to include a flat number ..THE WHOLE PROPER ADRESSS then they're gonna get a 739 from me PLUS a note on it saying 'which flat!?'

Delivery to neighbour......................start at the easiest flat (usually the groundfloor one) and then deliver it to them

Sod that mate. Not correctly addressed, I kill it off. Sticker on it ticked with address incomplete.
