My office works the same way as Postmans FT and we certainly arn't a small office. Obviously if people are refused the requested day off they can write to the DOM.

Anyway i think putting all leave requests in writing can only be a good thing,if only to help with average line manager reading skills.

ZX135 you sound so righteous. Have you never in your life told a little white lie? This man has told you that he must have this time off. He has repeated this to his line managers on several occasions, and has been totally blanked. Let them sort it out on the Saturday, or get their ass,s into gear and deliver it for him. They have the why and know hows to make this mans life easier, but have chosen to act like little h.tlers. Hand on heart, have you never manipulated a situation to suit your requirements, especially when they are of an upmost importance to you.

It would not be a great idea to go sick having told the DOM you are taking that day off.

never needed to lie, always other options, personally i would have asked moya on his ass by now, going by what youve just said, why even bother saying he is sick? if your just going to let them sort it out why even lie?

i just dont like people abusing the rights that others have gained for us over the decades
