With the country in the grip of medal fever, the team at Peterborough mail centre are close to a bronze medal of their own.
Their fourth World Class Mail audit, carried out with Professor Hajime Yamashina and managing director of ops and modernisation Mark Higson, resulted in a score of 32 points against the 50 points they need to achieve.
Peterborough plant manager Jon Witt said: “I am so proud of my team. This is the first time we have been visited by the Professor and it was great to have Mark Higson involved as well. We got some really fantastic feedback from both and we have a very clear idea of how and when we will take our next step towards bronze.”
The plant’s World Class Mail champion Andrew Dawson added: “They were fantastic, every one of them. The experience of presenting to the Professor and our managing director will be invaluable to the whole team as we continue on our World Class Mail journey. It’s full steam ahead now as we chase bronze.”
