The recorded service is very cheap to acquire a sig (or not) but does not insure the item in any way. So you prob are better off with registered mail, but of course this cost plenty more. Pay your money and make your choice

I have payed for the recorded delivery service because you have proof of posting and are supposedly be in a position to track what you have sent via Royal Mails track and trace (or should that be try and trace)..with the item number supplied...i type it in...nothing..doesn't even acknowledge my item number exists...

well for starters.Unless its sent via a Post Officepostypie wrote:What i don't understand is this....bringon4dayweeks wrote:i will second thatDarren Bent wrote:I want to see Recorded delivery disappears as well. I don't see the point of it.

..then i try to trace it a few days later...still nothing.....then find out nearly two weeks later it has been delivered...but i still can't trace it and there is certainly no proof of signature....so the label has gone astray?
The 1st track it gets is at the delivery office
Be that delivered/undelivered
Many posties simply don't understand the importance of gaining a signature and thik that as long as its delivered its all fine.
Given nobody is checking up on these issues, nothing is likely to change. nobody cares.
RM pay out for no sig on RDs. So i encourage everyone to claim.
They are paying out on average 6 1st class stamps per item(thats not for a lost item, just no sig)
Thats £3.60 compo for a service that costs 95p
This is typical of RMs slash and burn attitude to staffing and quality of service
