if everyone uses a LWT it shouldn't matter how old or young you are, but they don't,so it does
Of course it 'matters' how old you are, with, or without a trolley. Outside factors for one, like heat, play a large part and is likely to hit our older colleagues much more. Deliveries are no longer 3.5 hours and people are outside for longer and during the hotest part of the day.
I take no pleasure in saying so but there will eventually be casualties.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

It shouldn't matter either way.
There is an acceptable standard and that standard should be achievable whether you are 20 or 60.
Anyone who works above that acceptable standard is a clown since there is now no incentive to do so.

Quite correct, however Line Managers do not sing from this particular hymn sheet Fish.
Either way, with park and loop, it's hard to see a 60 year old coming back before a 20 year old colleague. That means dead time while they sync.

That could well change with the current negotiations - it could go something like:
RM: - we want you to get your members to do whatever we say and we might give you something if we feel like it
HQ: - OK
There we are that didn't take long.....................

With 2 keys to the van and a little planning ( ) they shouldn't need too much syncing.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

In my experience having two keys makes little difference.
You can't move the van or deliver the next loop until your partner returns so all you can do is ready the next loop...which takes about 30 seconds.

That depends on the size of the geographical area you cover and the number of available parking spaces.

I'm confused but it may be sunstroke...what do you mean?
In areas of built up flats with reduced parking opportunities I have seen instances of 6/8 loops all radiating from the stationary vehicle. The "loops" are small due to the weight restrictions.
It becomes a glorified drop box.
So the speedy 20 year old could do 5 loops while the old maid with bad knees does 3 and they would still be in perfect sync.
Edit: But we are a team.......No fuss. No bitching.
Synchronized postal working - it could be in the next Olympics.

There's a thought. It could lead to several spin offs:
But you just know that there would be. You only have to be a forum member here to know that one.
I also know a lot of people like to avoid confrontation with management so.....
cut off because so and so is too slow or
do a couple of extra loops to help out a colleague?

If i know human/postie nature they will do a couple of extra loops and then undermine their slower colleague...probably in deliberate earshot of management.
It sounds like a recipe for disaster.
