Dear Colleague
Business Transformation Payment- Mail Centres
Branches and representatives will be aware that Walk Sequencing Workshops were developed and deployed in the later part of 2011 by Phil Browne (Acting Assistant Secretary Indoor), in order to move forward the achievement of the Transformation Lump Sum Payments for CWU members employed in Processing. We are please to confirm that this activity has been successful and has enabled our mail centre members to achieve the transformation lump sums a full nine months ahead of plan.
It is against this backdrop that I have attached for your information a Joint Statement that has been agreed with the business the content of which is self explanatory.
It would be appreciated if branches could ensue that this LTB and the attached information are circulated as widely as possible in all Mail Centres.
Any enquiries in relation to this LTB should be addressed to Terry Pullinger, Assistant Secretary, e-mail: dwyatt@cwu.org or lwright@cwu.org quoting reference number: 715.05
Yours sincerely
Terry Pullinger
Assistant Secretary
Joint Statement between Royal Mail and the CWU regarding
Business Transformation Payments – Mail Centres
Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union are pleased to announce that a major Walk Sequencing Project milestone has been reached with all Mail Centres now achieving the delivery point sequence performance target and employees/CWU members receiving the full £1,000 transformation payment.
This is a significant achievement by our Mail Centre colleagues and they should be congratulated for not only reaching the target but doing so nine months ahead of plan.
By working together the CWU and the WS Project Team have focused on providing the support and guidance to the Mail Centre teams to ensure the achievement of this target. There can be no doubt that the joint management and CWU workshops, audit activity, enhancing understanding and ensuring we had realistic goals for achievement has produced the right results.
Against that backdrop we would like to place on record our personal thanks to everyone involved at all levels since 2010 who have worked diligently towards achieving this goal.

More staff shedding to follow then......
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.
