Having read the agreement as management want it written, we have to tell them to stick it and have the punch up we just cannot accept that.

Later start times

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Just a thought but with these later start times it obviously means we will be out later. It also means that instead of finishing just as it gets to the hotest part of the day we'll still be out there slaving away. I wonder if anyone has risk assesed the implications such as , more chance of heat stroke, dehydration and worst of all more risk of skin cancer.

Any thoughts

There's this Severe Winter Policy
But that's for the winter.
Then there's the gobal warming shite and the nice bird on GMTV telling us to cover ourselves, use lotion, hats, and try to stay in the shade ect
We're issued with water bottles, sun cream and hats down our way,but doing a 3-30hr walk and most of it at the hottest part of the day is gonna cause some probs.
From what i rem we're in for a serious hot summer this year, last year was bad enough and i was seriously shagged at the end of my walk, and thats not doing a full day.
If we're still on getting out late which we will be and doing full days,it's gonna be hard.
In all honesty this has to be seriously looked at,but i cant see what the solution could be,break the delivery in 2 or summin like that, come back to the office to rest??
Tough one,but needs to be sorted.

Now maths was never me strongest point but, a 2.5% rise on my wage comes out at about £8.75. If i was to do five D2D's and get payed for only 3, that means RM will be getting £16.70 off me a week, does this mean im not really getting a pay rise, and that im giving them one.[/b]

When I received a letter (4 May 2007) co-signed by Messrs. Leighton and Crozier, appealing to me in my first name, my internal bulls**t detector suggested words such as, spin, fabrication, distortion and exaggeration. Sadly, I am not disappointed with my bulls**t detector in this respect.

The letter continues with the usual sandbagging concerning the state of the company and the repercussions that industrial action in respect of the current wage clam would cause in the event that a forthcoming ballot should not go in their favour. We are entreated to the idea that other companies in similar circumstances have frozen their employees pay therefore we are privileged not to find ourselves in a similar situation. To engage our sympathy we are provided with the information that, “The 500 members of our senior leadership team have agreed to a pay freeze this year.â€
