So I clicked "apply now" and then this message came up:
"Unfortunately, the position you are attempting to apply for is no longer available."

So, I understand I have to wait until the positions are formally advertised in September, but am I pre-registered or not?

I received the card, applied first of all got the position no longer available message, so went to the personal details ticked section completed (or whatever it's called). clicked for the apply for position and it accepted the application.

I've had the 2012 Christmas Card too.

The way it is worded suggests that we, as ex-casual Royal Mail Workers, will be first in the queue when the registration happens in late November. What worries me though is that we were all sent a similar card last year stating the same thing and when the dates for the interviews went on line, we were asked to pick a convenient date, I did and when I got to the registration, the man from Angard said, 'The bad news is all the vacancies have gone but you can go on a waiting list in the hope that a casual drops out. So what happened to the fact that being a previous Casual meant I had priority?

Lets hope that Royal Mail have cleaned up their act.

Had a postcard also from royal mail saying they were going to recruit and pay us directly. Wouldnt trust them again still not sorted it out from last year once bitten twice shy. Not applying this year.

I had the same initial problems, so I had the bright idea of withdrawing and resubmitting my application, and it isn't allowing me to apply again! Is there any way I can withdraw my withdrawal, or have I sodded up per-registration? If so, is it still possible to apply in September when the jobs properly go live?

ATM I have no other job or meaningful prospect of one, and I was good last year, I even managed not to have problems with Angard so I am relying on this. Hope I haven't buggered things up.

Sorry to bother you but I tried sending an email and it bounced, and I gather there is no number to call, they just want you to use the website and aren't bothered if you have problems on the website. :Boo hoo!

It's pretty obvious from most of the above and from other threads on here that whether it's Angard or RM both are equally useless and I'd bet good money that it will be just as much of a f+++ up this year as last. I am currently out of work but I won't apply to them under any circumstances. Apart from anything else I don't want to have no income at all for several weeks and have to issue an ET1 against them which is what happened last year.

I won't be applying not only cos Angard couldn't organise a **** ** in a brewery last year, but also cos the royal mail staff in my location allowed dossers to get away with blue murder, and would not lift a finger to deal with it. So as someone who went above and beyond to help the royal mail and angard get out of the mess they created last year, they couldn't get me to consider working there for all the tea in china.

Hi, first I knew about the postcard was when I got the email from this site! This is especially galling as I have been working for Angard on and off since Christmas. So the question is, how do I apply for Christmas casual work.

Hi Everyone,

I've also received a postcard. But on following the instructions - royalmail.com/xmasjobs - get nowhere. I followed AngDrones advice and went to the RM jobs site and logged on and went to 'My applications'- but have also drawn a blank. I can find no invitation to gain the priority application status promised :arrrghhh Can anyone help???

Xian

Should we all just wait until September? I know I'll be looking elsewhere for jobs. But then I always do that and I'm always back working for Reed/Angard/RM in November :nana

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
