I always think it is funny when people say they shouldn't be lapsing - because they want to finish early.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I was on a round the other week with lapsing and absorption

Lapsing is seasonal, absorption is pretty much part of some duties now

In Moya Greene’s words “The frequency with which employees are asked to cover the routes of colleagues in the case of absence often causes a great deal of strain in the day to day workings of many delivery offices. I agree it is timely and appropriate for the business to revisit the guidelines that have been deployed in these areas.” I think we can all agree on that one and we will endeavour to agree a form of words that provide sensible and fair guidance on this contentious issue.

It's nearly August and the end of absorption season. :left:

Hang on fish, scheduling national discussions takes a lot of...... scheduling... an awful lot apparently.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Well these things take time - it's only 15 months and it's a very complex issue, aren't they all - how many of you have negotiated at this level, there are offices who have had a revision, they lapse, there are offices without a revision, they lapse, you have offices who have had a revision who don't lapse and on the other hand offices without a revision who don't lapse - now can you see the complexity of the issue? No worries though by the time the privatisation has gone through it will no longer be an issue and further negotiations will not be necessary, in fact at this moment in time, ie now, I don't know where we stand but rest assured a joint statement issued as an LTB will eventually surface.
