A POST Office van crashed into a ditch in Wormingford.

The vehicle left Main Road at 10.15am on Monday after colliding with a telegraph pole.

Firefighters called to the scene requested police officers after the driver, who was unharmed, was unwilling to unlock himself from the security van because of its contents.

Crews waited for officers to arrive before leaving the scene. No other car was involved.

The road was closed in both directions while the vehicle was recovered.
