Globalisation will find a way to buy food from another country to fill in the gap. So we don't need to worry too much. We can eat other things now.

If you're on a park&loop duty take a couple of spare bags for the trolley...and a change of jacket.
Don't cradle the mail because the constant rubbing on your wet jacket shreds the mail.
Like rhino says if the forecast is rain...keep your bundles as small as possible and put small SD items especially letters/tickets in redirection or damage bags before you leave the office.
It's one thing stuffing wet mail through the door...it's another standing on the doorstep with a couple of soaking wet,half-shredded cup final tickets asking some scary looking bloke for a signature.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

But when there's food shortages across the globe you can't assume globalisation will solve everything.

People expect their mail to be delivered what ever the weather, then wonder why its soaking wet sometimes!?
Its like people who refuse to put a number on their house are always the first to complain why their getting the wrong mail delivered!? :arrrghhh

I have invented the perfect piece of equipment to solve the problem of wet mail. Unfortunately it doesn't work because it's only in my head.
The sky is white as clay, with no sun.
Work has to be done.

Yesterday was so rainy here it was like something out of Seven.

Writing out a saturated notice left with a wet pen, and then trying to slide said floppy, pathetic notice left card under a door, with water dripping from the roofs if I got too close, and spraying from the road if I got too close to that, was a pretty crappy experience.

However, it can't have been as bad as the experience had by all the other posties I saw not even wearing waterproofs.

You would think after 300 yrs of delivering mail in all weathers someone at RM would have come up with a viable solution, to the papier maché problem

Plastic envolopes or non paper ........... is the best logic answer to the wet letter problem...

My line manager says its only a problem when it rains.......

If we were like council gardeners and we were kept in every time it rained here people would hardly ever get any mail.

Wet mail or no mail, what would the public choose?

Postie in our office had a classic riposte to a complaint about wet mail..........."I'm so sorry,i got my hands wet when i opened your gate,in future if you could try to keep your gate dry when it rains that should help me keep your mail dry, have a good day now" :wave

Are you Dynamo?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
