Hi All,
Our PHG's (i know they are only postman now but i am old school) are being loaded up with work from our DOM. A lot of this work, i would say, is line manager stuff. Is there anywhere that defines their position or work? Any ideas?
Thanks for any help.

Re: PHG defined?
They can only do what they've been trained for and what they have time for............if the LM are shifting their work onto others then they'll find themselves out of a job pretty soon, this is the way RM are heading, big cull of junior management.

Thanks DGP,
No sign of the line managers. They have culled a lot of them already, in our area. The DOM is on his own a lot of the time and using the PHG's.

Re: PHG defined?
We have this in our office. We have a single manager and he has offloaded most of his work onto the late locker duty so he can go home by 10am everyday. The problem is that the locker guys actualy have the time to do it because we are only a small office and there is 3hrs overlap between early and late duties and not enough work in there for two of them.

Does anyone know the number of staff needed before a second manager can be appointed, our manager is totally useless but claims it is because he has to much to do and should have an assisstant.

Re: PHG defined?
Probably only a matter of time before RM bring in Team Leaders, with one shift manager or dom and the existing line managers being made team leaders (normal postman's rate + leadership allowance), they would then be doing a normal postmans work
