A DROP in the number of letters has forced Royal Mail bosses into a rethink over its deliveries.
And it could mean later post for homes in some parts of Kilmarnock and Loudoun.
Royal Mail announced this week that it is changing delivery routes and methods in the area.
The changes, which started on Monday, will be phased in over the next few weeks.
A spokeswoman said that the organisation was writing to every address in the KA1, KA2, KA3, KA4, KA16 and KA17 postcode areas.
The gist of the changes is that mail will be delivered over a longer period during the day.
The time households receive their mail will depend on where they are on the new delivery routes.
Royal Mail say that “this may be later or possibly earlier” than the current times.
Royal Mail say that the changes will not mean any job losses.
The postal service employs a total of 152 workers – full-time and part-time – in the Kilmarnock area.

Kilmarnock: Royal Mail changes mean later post
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
