Re: quick question about signed for items
I scan everything even the foreign ones that don't have that "Signature Required" sticker. Most of the US and Aussie items with tracking numbers seem to work like RM Tracked barcodes, you scan them but they don't ask for a signature.

That's right , a tiny barcode in the format xx12345678us must be scanned . I once slipped one as a normal packet and when it went out for redelivery the phg went berzerk with his marker , saying get it scanned next time!
Why are lino's paid full-time ??

I am the same, if it has a barcode then it gets scanned, if the PDA then tells me it is not a valid barcode then fine

No, not laziness by your drivers but the only option really where there aren't any PDAsDGP1 wrote:That's just laziness by your drivers, what happens if there's an incident at the address and you can get at it?gone postal wrote:Our small Tracked items are scanned as 'Delivered' before they leave the office and then given to us to deliver.PhilthyPhil wrote:All tracked items are supposed to go by van so they can be scanned with a PDA. A lot of offices seem to give the small ones to the foot/cycle/trolley delivieries though and get them to write the tracking number on the delivery card.
Back to the original question the 'Signature Required' for foreign ones can be stamped red on the pale envelope background as well as the 'white on red' sticker illustrated. Also watch out for Recorded Delivery and Special Delivery from senders like Amazon that don't have the distinctive orange or blue and silver markings. Furtermore Tracked should be checked for 'No signature' or 'Signature Required'.

Or the occasional Tracked - No Signature Required that sneak in where you have to put "No Sig Req" and the Serial Number into the PDA and instead of a signature you write NSR

Cancel out of delivery, rescan and magically it will become a No Signature Required.Dick Dastardly wrote:Or the occasional Tracked - No Signature Required that sneak in where you have to put "No Sig Req" and the Serial Number into the PDA and instead of a signature you write NSR

Re: quick question about signed for items
I have, if it needs signed for then get it signed for, don't mess about with putting in 'NSR' because that will probably get you sacked, just follow the rules, the PDA knows best, not you.bigcol wrote:Trying reading the posts.DGP1 wrote:bigcol wrote:Cancel out of delivery, rescan and magically it will become a No Signature Required.Dick Dastardly wrote:Or the occasional Tracked - No Signature Required that sneak in where you have to put "No Sig Req" and the Serial Number into the PDA and instead of a signature you write NSRIf they are to be signed for then get them signed for, if they're not to be signed for then don't................I don't know why people have a problem with that, it's not our time, it's RMs time, anything more than that then they either get covered of they pay extra for...............as people say - simples :-)

Re: quick question about signed for items
I noticed that a few weeks ago. Had an item from the US with a barcode and played it safe in case it was an International Registered, but it behaved as a No Signature Tracked. And on the other side, I've had No Signature Tracked items that the PDA wants a signature for.Caniel wrote:Most of the US and Aussie items with tracking numbers seem to work like RM Tracked barcodes, you scan them but they don't ask for a signature.

Re: quick question about signed for items
When I sort the packets, if I see a international barcode, I scan it. Mostly zaps ok, but occasionally asks for a signature, I than cancel the code, and tell the postie it needs to be signed for. Sometimes a tracked says not signed for, then it lies and wants a signature, just do as the PDA says.
stuck on it somewhere - the sticker can be blue.
