MAIL CENTRE CLOSURE EMPLOYEES COVERED DDA

Post by Special Delivery »

Hi, I am new to this site, hope this is the right spot to put this.

My mail centre is closing and all the people on DDA have been given an Atos appointment to which they are expected to attend. I would like to know if any other mail centres that have closed or are closing are going through or have gone through the same thing. As to me it looks like a selection process is being put in operation, "Survival of the Fittest". Can anybody give me the heads up as to wether this is the case or not.

Thanks for any help given.

Those on DDA will be of course "re-assessed" and most likely find their condition miraculously gone! AND to be able to travel and work 100s of miles away with no ill effect! :nana

Thanks All for your responses. Surely if you are already on the shift you requested in the choices available and you are performing the duty content along with attending Atos previously to verify your condition. Then this should already be in your notes which are available to R/M for their perusal. I think they have underestimated the impact this is having on genuine employees, as they feel singled out and discriminated against due to an illness beyond their control.

My office is due to close and yes, the above has happened already. I think the DDA people think they are going to jump ahead of everyone else when jobs are allocated, or they do in my office. :no no

The matching process has DDA, Flexible Working and pregnant employees get matched first.

I am one of the last left at Nine Elms, all the jobs I get offered I can not do due to my disabilities.

That is why DDA get matched first so not to give away a job a DDA could possibly do, then have nothing left suitable ? (probably something to do with disability discrimination but I'm no expert) if they are offering you jobs they must feel you can perform them as you will have had an assessment under DDA? I'm guessing you have been or will be taking them down the appeals process? If so be very carefull and get representation from your area rep or higher.

Aren't people with DDA's supposed to go for regular ATOS assessment?

I have been ATOS assessed and I can not stand for more than 10 mins at a time, I have been offered DSA/MAILSORT and last week was offered iLSM's.
