why do they get a huge bonus?? its us that do the hardwork in all weathers! then they wonder why moral is on the floor!

Oh, come on. Unless you are completely new to the job, you will know for sure that your DOM will get a REAL bonus, while you will get about £70 after tax has been deducted.

Well if you were being cynical you could say you have answered your own question.

If you want to get a business ripe for sale there are a few things you need to do.

1. Reduce costs. Including reducing the biggest drain which is wages, as cheaply as possible.
2. Sell assets at best price.
3. Where possible combine operations that can show a saving in the short to medium term.

Item 1 is best performed by managers on the shop floor, and it cheaper to pay them bonuses linked to reducing hours in the office, than it is paying workers redundancy packages. That is the business definition of "natural wastage".
