Royal Mail apology to Woolston customers over new system issues

WAITING for the post has become an agonisingly long affair for residents in Woolston.
Some have not received their letters and parcels until the early evening as postmen struggle with a new system.
One resident in Ivy Road, who did not wish to be named, said: “I got my mail at 6.05pm one evening. The postman said he still had lots more to deliver and would be finished at 8pm.
“I have been complaining about this mail problem since before January when they brought in the new system.”
Royal Mail says it had written to households affected by the new system, which has seen three routes combined into two, to inform them that delivery periods were extending during the day.
Morag Turnbull, from Royal Mail, added: “Many customers still receive their mail by lunchtime but the time customers receive their mail depends on where they live on the new delivery route. This may be later or possibly earlier than they are used to.
“This means that mail should be delivered by 3pm in urban areas and by 4pm in rural areas.”
But the Ivy Road resident added: “Previously you could set your watch by our postman who would arrive at 9am. Then it got to 4pm.
“I have told Royal Mail they need to invest time and money to fix the problems we are facing.”
Ms Turnbull added: “We apologise to any customers in Warrington who may be experiencing difficulties with their mail deliveries.
“As part of the process, these changes are adapted to take account of local circumstances and we are working urgently to resolve these issues as soon as possible.
“We wish to reassure customers that we are working hard to resolve these issues.
“Mail for delivery is going out for delivery every day and we are making every effort to ensure all deliveries are completed that same day.”

Royal Mail apology to Woolston customers over P&L
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Another roaring success, I see.
You need a definite number of duties, a definite number of workers, to make things run smoothly.
Too few staff, too few duties, leads to chaos, a chaotic service for customers, and a working environment that is the stuff of nightmares.
Royal Mail bosses aren't just dummies, they are stupid dummies, so expect more of the same.
