Stand by for the "Joint Statement", though why the CWU can't impart the information on it's own merit is beyond me. It's as though it is joint culpability even though we pay our subs to the CWU.

I honestly see that Network will get a company like Norbert Dentressangle,Wincanton, Stobarts etc in to run the fleet you can see a lot of the bigger companies doing it by handing over their fleet for them to manage and run. Seen firms with an ageing unreliable fleet handing it over and hey presto within a few months new fleet and reliable fleet again with big savings. Drivers being far more flexible than they are now, worked to Max hours and workforce cut by a third at least. Heard from a Transport Manager the other day that to replace the entire fleet of Motor Units would cost £35 to £40 million.

Could do with Dingo's input here then. Nearly all agreements go to the PEC first. I did hear a rumour that some network duties will have nights out on them, although that is just a rumour. It would get rid of empty legs then.

Our tractor units may have a bunk in them however they are day cabs, if RM want us to do nights out then they would have to supply new units that you are able to stand up in, can't see that happening!!!

Spoke to a rep today, he was saying there is a briefing at CWU hq on Wednesday about network issues. He said he knows no more than that. Does anyone know what it could be about?

With MC drivers (600 and bigger) going over to logisitics (locally they've already gone over) I wouldn't be surprised to see logistics drivers being shifted around as to what MC they are doing runs out of and the ones with artic licences will probably end up driving artics some weeks instead of driving 600s.

@Postman. A little off topic but with distribution drivers round the country going over to logistics it may pay for them to have their own sub-forum, or at the very least their own user group
