Seniority

Post by Lincox »

Is seniority based on the number of years, months etc that you have served as a total in Royal Mail, or time served in a particular do or spdo. The reason for this question is can a person with x number years service move to a different location, and if there is a repick due to BT2010 changes in the next couple of months, hold seniority over someone who has been in that unit for many years but not quite as long as the transferee.

Also just to add number of hours worked doesn't affect seniority either, so part timers will be senior to full timers if they have worked for a longer period of time regardless of fact they are only part time

Total continuous service minus any unpaid special leave...no breaks of service allowed, unless there are extraordinary exceptional circumstances..which will be discussed and agreed locally ...unless it's holiday entitlement which can include breaks of service...and any other PO service...in any function. :chuckle
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
