Can you send specials out in your delivery bags...

The most specials I've ever had (other than when doing businesses) is three. I argued that I could only just squeeze them into my bag, and if I had to carry them around all day, along with other P739'd packets I wouldn't have room for my last couple of pouches. All three were out, and it was lashing down, so they got soaked. Put them in 'Damaged' bags then handed them in to the office with a told-you-so look.

Now we have park and loop, I have no idea what we are meant to do. I'm assuming you can put them in the correct bag?

The problem with the LTL document is that it's a CWU document and some managers are ignoring it as it's not an official RM one.

So what you are saying is that there is no limit to how many specials a postie can take out in his delivery bag...the CWU need to address this in my book and without a doubt there indeed should be a limit on the amount of specials we take out...when your bag is virtually full of specials this can't be right...8 sounds about right...come on CWU..get RM to agree to this limit!

Surely it depends on how big they are? 8 letters maybe, but even then they'd be in a fine state by the end of your walk.

Well I have always used the ruling that 8 is the maximum for on foot of which no more than 5 can be high value. It was a printed document BUT I'm not sure who the author was RM or the CWU. FT would know if anyone does what the definitive answer is but I would suggest such a high number of SDs is totally unsafe on foot. Even vehicles have a limit for a high number unless there is a secure locker in the van. I seem to remember that there is not only a daily limit but an accumulative limit for the week.

I had the same issue, the manager finally checked up and RM has a policy, different from CWU. Get the manager to check it out, if its a "high" risk area you could be told not to take any. I am learning, its down to interpretation, and the usual Mexican stand off.

I know the difference between specials,recorded,tracked,internationals,etc, and bog standard first class letters sonny...specials...right i know you are a bit slow on the up take so he goes..S.P.E.C.I.A.L.S....now say it quickly son....and it becomes...specials!!lol
