Lots of people ( if not all posties ) can't realy afford to strike ( on our poor wages ).......

HOWEVER....You can't afford NOT to with the conditions / strings that RM want....an remember, these conditions are only the begining of the savings plan.....

BUT........

to help each other out, here are a few money saving tips to keep the wolfs at bay....

1 - Sell your unwanted....or little used JUNK on EBAY !

2 - Drink at home....you'll save a small fortune, and get to spend more time with the Mrs. ( Well, we all have to make sacrafices.....And the more you drink...the better she'll look )

3 - Start doing the food shopping somewhere cheaper....... ALDI / LIDL / FARMFOODS etc..... ( REMEMBER, its only temp. , you can go back to waiterose once the strikes over.... )

4 - Stop eating take-aways.....your heart / waistline will thank you.......

5 - Phone up sky and tell them your switching to NTL....you'll get a reduced price for the same package for 3 months ( now that Jose has gone , you'll not need SKY SPORTS anyway....lol )

6 - as above for NTL customers......vice versa

7 - Visit http://www.moneysavingexpert.com

8 - See the site above to advise you upon SWITCHING your CREDIT CARDS to 0 % deals.....

If all else fails sell the Mrs. ( offers anyone ? )

If you can think of any other useful advice to KEEP ourselfs supporting the strike....please help others by posting them.....

Or, with bonfire night fast approaching, and people maybe thinking about a good "Guy" to stick on their bonfires , we could organise raffles with a

REMEMBER....YOU WON'T DIE by eating cheaply for a few months....BUT if RM get thier way , you WILL DIE before you claim your pension !

To keep your electricity bills down (seems like common sense but you'd be surprised!):

Turn lights off that arent being used directly.
Dont leave TV on standby (drians as much power as it being on)
Turn off all plug sockets when not in use - ac adaptors, phone chragers etc still drain power).
Switch your gas and electric to EDF (currently cheapest for most)
Do things that dont require power and broaden your mind in doing so (read, be active etc)

I brought my electric bill down to Â£41 per quarter doing this and last gas bill was Â£20 per qtr (no kids though)

It's the wife who uses most of our electric! I said no dear keep using the battery ones but she insisted on the Large Deluxe model with mains adaptor - the neighbours think I'm using an electric drill in the bedroom!!!!
