Applying for a job with Royal Mail - what a performance!

Post by peterki »

I have been attempting to contact Royal Mail re a job application which I completed online.

I have received a text message inviting me for interview and suggesting that I check my emails for instructions to progress the interview.

However I have not received such an email and on attempting to access my online application - it does not allow me access - I have requested a change of password for which it states that I will be sent an email: no such email has arrived.

Having contacted: 1) Customer Service by telephone, then referred to 2) Website helpdesk - I was finally given the following contact details:
hsrc_rrf@royalmail.com

Unfortunately, I keep receiving a ‘non-delivery’ notification – so yet another route of communication seems not to be working!

A further call to one of the contact numbers eventually resulted in me being offered another email address:
Recruitment_Support@royalmail.com
Surprise, surprise – I received the following response:
“Unfortunately this service is no longer available. Please refer to our website and Job FAQs.”

Is it too much to expect that somebody can make a personal intervention in this matter? - it certainly seems to be!

Can anybody offer any advice in order that I might be able to finalise the intreview process.

Increasingly frustrated

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanks Postman

I have tried that number too

I also contacted the Angard agency - but the reference of the job I have applied for begins with RML - so it is a direct Royal Mail appointment

no luck there then either

I have just drafted a letter to Royal Mail HO detailing my predicament - here's hoping

The job will probably be gone by now!

I had problems with receiving emails from royal mail too, have noo idea what the issue was. Also had a problem logging on to the "my application" section of the website but then for some reason it suddenly decided to work and from there I was able to view the emails I'd apparently been sent by rm

There was a typo in the email address above, the correct address is for Royal Mail HR so is:
HRSC_RRF@royalmail.com.
I hope that helps.
