Checking your pay slip online ?

Yeah I suppose I have, and like nothing more than spending a rainy sunday afternoon browsing through them.

It would save RM a lot of money to move to online payslips, and save a lot of paperwork. My former employer did this and it was so much more convenient.

It's not great to do in a business that delivers letter though.

"Why don't you send your wage slips and paper material through royal mail. We will give you a good price"

"Is that what you do with your staff?"

"Erm, no we do it all online"

That's a good point mancpat. It would be a lot easier though, considering we get them weekly. I've kept all mine so far, but I'm not really sure how long we should be keeping them for?

Exactly. Moving to online pay slips would assume that all employees have access to a computer and Internet.

I can see both points of view here - why are RM paying themselves to transport pay chits (and the Courier) with the costs of paper, printing, fuel and delivery
time when it could be possible to view pay chits online (as can be done with the Courier already)?

Why not keep both view points happy and use an opt in/out system - you can get/view them online if you want via your RM login, if not you still get paper copies (which
are sometimes still necessary for mortgage applications, proving identity etc.).

Wages could so easily be added to our Myroyalmail accounts, where they show our benefits.

The online bank show the total amount paid into your account on a give date.

Me too but I don't know why, I've got 20 odd years worth! I seem to remember my first take home pay was £44.

Roughly then , when did the household D 2 Ds start mate ? cheers .

When I started in 1987 it was called household delivery & u had 2 walks
to deliver it, u only had one lot, management & the union changed it around 1994 to door to door, increased the maximum amount to 3 & cut the amount of time to deliver it to 2 wks. The worst thing they ever did was to do away with the maximum amount & stop postie getting paid for it. The union badly let posties down agreeing to this, some postie lost over £50 a week.

Started a few years before you and my memory of that time was that Allan Leighton was adamant that the household/ D2dr payments were going to be removed and we would be delivering them for free, it was the CWU that eventually negotiated the deal with the delivery supplement, not brilliant but much better than nothing that we would have got if AL had got his way, So I don't feel let down by the union, I 'm grateful that they fought as hard as they did to get us the delivery supplement
